Europe, I love you!

When the word RECESSION was still foreign to my EARS and especially my dad's, having the BUDGET to visit my BELOVED family in EUROPE is no exceptions to a WONDERFUL time in the YEAR which some believe that 8 is a LUCKY number.

Visiting a place where DELICATE LADIES showcasing themselves behind the WINDOWS, being amazed by the GRANDEUR ranging from MEDIEVAL to MODERN fine ARTS&ARCHITECTURE, breathtaking LANDSCAPES, Languages that vary in EACH region and of course, the UNIQUE FASHION SENSE that each individual has to offer -
ALL IN ONE CONTINENT!

Yes EUROPE, I love you - Ich liebe dich - J'et aime - Ik hou van jouw - Ti amo - Te Quiereo and so on....

I am PROUD to have EUROPEAN blood in my veins - Thanks to my PAPA!

I have PROMISED myself that by the time I step my foot in EUROPEAN SOIL again, I would be calling the PLACE my HOME!

Fashion Week Spring Summer 2010

I am sorry for being such a LATE BLOOMER on this topic, my dears. But the VITALITY of this event DECIDES what FASHION is all about.

What you're WEARING right now might just be "OUT" while the OUTFIT that appeared on your GREAT GRANDMOTHER portrait could just be this SEASON's most TALK-ABOUT style.

Here I present you my Favorite TRENDS in SPRING/SUMMER 2010 from FOUR designers in MAJOR FASHION WEEKS

Marc by MARC JACOBS at NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

When GLOOMY colors DOMINATED most DESIGNS to represent the RECESSION, Marc Jacobs broke the RULE with a COLORFUL breakthrough.

For WOMEN, he put ETHNIC look to give the TROPICAL FEEL where the sun mostly SHINES at its HEIGHT. The LOOK reminded me of what SWAHILI women wear. As in for the GUYS, I love how he STYLES their clothes with CASUAL touch and PLAID fabrics.

ALL in ALL, This MULTICOLOR trend really suits the THEME for SPRING/SUMMER 2010

BURBERRY PRORSUM at LONDON FASHION WEEK

CHRISTOPHER BAILEY has TRANSFORMED this LINE into a GLOBAL luxury consumption. This TIME, the LEGENDARY trench coat and fabrics can still be SEEN in the COLLECTION with the WOMEN section looking less MILITARY.

DOLCE&GABBANA at MILAN FASHION WEEK

IS it just me or this latest BREAKOUT from the ITALIAN duo reminds me of the VICTORIAN ERA VAMPIRES? Whatever the INSPIRATION was coming from, I admire the chokers and LACE designs. Seems to me that the TUXEDO and LEOPARD prints encourage WOMEN to unleash their TOUGH SIDE in SPRING/SUMMER 2010

CHANEL at PARIS FASHION WEEK

Der Kaiser, KARL LAGERFELD, has ruled this FASHION house for YEARS while still maintaining its SIMPLE but CHIC LOOK alongside with their TRADEMARK colors.
SO yeah, BLACK and WHITE conquered the RUNAWAY but you know, they never look boring under his CREATION.

Just for the RECORD, the only MALE MODEL that appeared on the show happens to be his new MUSE, BAPTISE GIABICONI. A french MODEL who has involved in various LAGERFELD's PROJECTS

Oh la la...

Ahh, FRANCE...

Where a model becomes the FIRST LADY, Fashion as a part of their HISTORY, and a mysterious LANGUAGE that made my spine tremble

What can you ask more?

Anyway, FAR FAR AWAY from that LAND, lies one of their representatives in PARIJS van JAVA (a pathetic nickname of the city where I live, BANDUNG) to promote their GRACEFUL
CULTURE.
Back in JUNE, they imported a GROUP of men to perform in full outfit in the beginning while being shirtless in the end.

OPS, This isn't the male VERSION of MOULIN ROUGE, my dears, but it's an ECSTATIC performance with movements that makes CHIPPENDALE looks ridiculous.

PetitesHistoires.com is how they CALL themselves.

Their CHOREOGRAPHY is a combination of ACROBATIC and HIP-HOP meet comedy. In THAT way, the spectators can be AMAZED and LAUGHED at the same time.

The PERFORMANCE eventually have turned the whole AUDITORIUM into a DANCE FLOOR in a EUPHORIC sense.

IN FACT, I would really like to learn some of their AWESOME

twisting tricks with their elastic hands, Legs, and simply THEIR WHOLE BODY!

Wish you were as LUCKY as ME.. Oh and one more thing. the ticket was all for FREE.
OUI, GRATUIT!!!

The GREAT escape

IN the Midst of RECESSION, It would be logical to think twice before buying a new CONVERSE or some shirts from NAMES that would make our wallets SCREAM

But hey, we're not VICTORIA BECKHAM who could just get on her JET and retreat to some of the WORLD's EXOTIC PLAYGROUND when things are getting chaotic in mind.

LUCKILY, I happen to live in the BIGGEST ARCHIPELAGO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD where uncovered natural beauties become daily meals and where 1 EURO could afford us getting
into a MESMERIZING scenery that is worth dying for...

The place is KAWAH PUTIH and you would be surprised how PHOTOGENIC you could be when SHOOTS are being taken there. Here are some PROOFS my Dears.

The good thing of having a family is that they don't charge you a penny to have a photograph taken together. COMPARE to those FOLKS at DAM SQUARE (2 EURO/PHOTO) in
AMSTERDAM

(BUT then, I'd choose AMSTERDAM over KAWAH PUTIH for sure.. OBVIOUSLY)
